Thankyou for visiting the Web's unofficial home for the Masonic Lodges of the Great State of Ohio. This is a free site for both Masons and non-Masons alike, as well as a free service to all of our Lodges in the state. However, at this time only District 12 in the south east corner of the state is represented. I am constantly working on the site, adding more information and fixing bugs as I find them.

Much information is here to be found so feel free to browse around and, if you find something missing, hop onto the forms and let me know what you would like to see. If you have any questions about Freemasonry or you are looking to join a Lodge of Freemasons and live in the State of Ohio, please check the links to the left and search by county. Use the Contact information included there or just simply use our Fourms.

Secretaries, if you would like to see your site included here plese leave a message on the Forums or contact Centreville Lodge #371 and I will be happy to get your site up.

BIOGRAPHY:

M.W. Brother Calvin Thomas Hubler was born in Logansport, Indiana, March 25, 1915, the son of Everett F. and Mabel Thomas Hubler. The family moved to Dayton in 1919 and "Cal" attended Jefferson Elementary and Stivers High School, graduating in 1932. He also attended Ohio University and the University of Dayton.

M. W. Brother Hubler was married on June 8, 1935, to Ruby A. Weidner who for 41 years was his constant companion. To this union were born two sons. He was an active member of the Normandy United Methodist Church where he served as Chairman of the Administrative Board for several years.

M. W. Brother Hubler had been Secretary of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton since 1965. Previously he was a tax auditor for the City of Dayton and was associated with his brother-in-law, Herman Weidner, for many years in the construction business.

M.W. Brother Hubler was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on December 14, 1943, and served as Worshipful Master of St. Johns Lodge No. 13, 1952-1953. He became a Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, November 11, 1944. After serving in several ritualistic parts, he entered the line of Miami Council, Princes of Jerusalem and served as Sovereign Prince, 1964-1966. He was crowned an Honorary 33° Mason, in Boston, Massachusetts, in September of 1966.

Brother Hubler was exalted in Unity Chapter No. 16, R. A. M., February 17, 1944. He served as Excellent High Priest, 1955-1956, and Secretary from 1961 to 1965. He was greeted in Reese Council No.9, R. & S. M. of Ohio, March 4, 1944; he dimitted to Silver Trowel Council No. 141, R. & S. M. in 1955 and served as its Recorder from then until 1965. He was created a Knight Templar in Reed Commandery No.6, March 6, 1945.

Brother Hubler was a member of Antioch Temple Shrine; Holy Grail Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine; Royal Order of Jesters; High Twelve Club (Past President); National Sojourners; Allied Masonic Degrees; Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Masonic Veterans Association of Ohio; Knight Masons of Ireland; Honorary Legion of Honor; International Order of DeMolay and an Honorary member of Rainbow for Girls.

In October 1967, Brother Hubler was appointed District Deputy Grand Master and served in 1968 and 1969. In October, 1969, Most Worshipful Brother Louis C. Holzapfel appointed him to the office of Junior Grand Deacon. He was subsequently appointed Senior Grand Deacon, Grand Marshall, Grand Orator.

He was elected Junior Grand Warden, 1972, Senior Grand Warden, 1973, and Deputy Grand Master, 1974. On October 17,1975, in Toledo, he was elected Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in Ohio and was installed into that office on October 18,1975.

The 167th Annual Communication of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio was opened on Friday, October 22, 1976 by Most Worshipful Brother Calvin T. Hubler, Grand Master, and we were that day and well into the next treated to a display of expertise, fair play, and congeniality which will not soon be forgotten.

Thus ends the record of an inspired and dedicated Mason.

Masonic memorial services were held in Dayton on Tuesday, November 2, 1976. Funeral services were conducted by the Reverend Milford E. Ater, Past Grand Chaplain in the Dayton Masonic Temple on Wednesday, November 3, 1976. Interment was in David Cemetery, Dayton.

Header Change and Link Fixes
Date Posted: 2010-07-02 00:22:36

I've had to change the header a bit as well as redesigned the left-side menu to accommodate all the Lodges in the state and had to fix some link errors.

This weekend I will be able to spend some time to complete the PGMs Biographies so look for that by Monday.

Front Page Change
Date Posted: 2010-06-24 01:30:29

It will take another rewrite but I am going to change the front page to show recent data from different sections of the site. I think this is will give the site a better flow and an instant view of additions.

Brother to Brother Directory
Date Posted: 2010-06-23 01:23:12

I've decided to ad a section, suggested to me by Brother Shawn Barr of Portland Lodge #366, where our brothers can advertise their business. I think it will be called Brother to Brother Business Directory and will be formatted similar to a phone book with ad spaces sold for a very small monthly fee.

Look for it in the near future. :)

Populated Members DB
Date Posted: 2010-06-22 01:19:47

I've added some of the members of the Centreville Lodge #371 from the years from 1866 till 1886 as well as coping a list of Past GMs from freemason.com.

Rewrite #4 grrrr!
Date Posted: 2010-06-18 01:11:52

Php variables and cookies are annoying to say the least. Once I added the new menu bar seems that my cookies stopped working. Another lesson learned. This rewrite will allow me to all program variables to the URL so users can bookmark pages. Before this fix the site would fail if you didn't start on the main page to pick up the variables.

I really don't like that navbar thing!
Date Posted: 2010-06-16 01:01:48

Perhaps I will just get rid of the dang thing all together. I have found a really cool flash applet that will allow me to do some cool things. If I like it I will end up having to buy it because my flash skills such and it wouldn't be a great idea to start learning that at the same time I am learning this. :)

Another coding error :(
Date Posted: 2010-06-14 00:57:29

Seems this is turning out to be more of a learning experience than I thought it would be. Rewrite #3 will modify the top navbar to something a little more professional and fix some variable handling issues.

PMs, PGMs and Officers
Date Posted: 2010-06-11 00:49:48

Since I have the framework from our members section already complete it was easy enough to add a Past Masters and Past Grand Masters section.

Adding Past Members
Date Posted: 2010-06-09 00:37:07

I've decided to include a past members section mainly for one reason.

For the past five years I have been working on my families genealogy and as such I have been searching high and low for any information about my ancestors. Collecting everything from work history, church affiliation and fraternal organizations such as ours.

As Masons we are very particular on our historical traditions and rituals as well as our past Brothers. Preserving this history is extremely important to us and collecting a history of our past members and posting it so everyone can see will help others, such as me, find their lost ancestors.

If you have any data that you wish to be added feel free to send it or if it is not in a digital format yet contact me for pricing information on transcribing your information.
